The last couple of days, Fox News has done something a little ironic.

They've filled a great deal of time criticizing the media for the coverage and concerns over the Cheney shooting flap -- and the mishandling of information that followed.

If this has no bearing and importance on policy, etc., as Bill O'Reilly literally screamed, maybe Fox News should let it drop.

To me the story wasn't about a hunting accident. It was a hunting accident. Happens quite often, though not with the Vice President of the United States.

The story was about an epidemic of the administration doing their best to hide information and dodge questions.

I'm not sure if there's a journalism or public relations degree with a concentration in "no comment," but if there is, I guarantee that Scott McClellen is an esteemed professor.

The number of things the White House will not comment on is astounding.

When they do speak out, such as Vice President Cheney finally did, they do so in a safe forum -- on Fox News, where they will be lobbed softballs in a safe comfy environment. But even there, they withold, side step and hemm and haw through their answers.

This is certainly the most closed administration of my lifetime.

Oh, they want to be open. They just want to do it in their own special way. We just learned they spent about a $1.6 billion on that.

    Isn't that special?

By day, I work at a PR firm. I sure would have loved to have bid on that!

Not that I want your firm to lack for business, but I have a problem with the Bush administration spending taxpayers' money to hype its programs and policies — its spin — to those same taxpayers.

    That's just plain wrong.
